The girls on the left are 7 weeks old, both the blue patched silver mackerel tabby and the cream silver mackerel tabby are fairly rare being less than 6% of the Maine Coon population study recently reported in Maine Coon International Magazine. The cream classic tabby male on the right is very handsome indeed! He displays at a very early age, 6 weeks; characteristics which are considered to be good "type". It seems that sometimes it is difficult to retain "type" in the non-brown tabby Maine Coons. Most Maine Coon breeders would define "type", at this time, to mean having the characteristics of a feral or moderate appearance.
